Absolute monarchies still exist, and while they don't normally send messages to people's phones the concept remains the same people can turn on each other (as in Lord of the Flies too), even if survival depends on cooperation.

While both can be observed from a sociological 'what if' perspective, conscious games make more frightening sense because this is more likely to happen in real life too. not all, but then Another practically had none of that from what I can remember. there were these sort of cathartic moments in some of the characters' lives. But, I certainly prefer Ou, even if it could be slightly more gory in comparison to Another, because it makes sociological sense, and also. So, do people prefer random accidents over deliberate games? I've no idea. Not that the 'king' here totally isn't 'supernatural', but there is an attempt at an explanation, whereas in Another there is only history (both do have attempts at understanding these background forces, but only one is 'conscious' per se, and so feels like Ou makes more sense due to this). happened due to a conscious decision, whether insane or not, whereas with Another it just happened due to some unspecified supernatural force. that is the point, at least the gore here made sense. maybe Ou did more, considering the nature of the game, but. Both really tried to up themselves several times throughout the series. Both have gore, that is undeniable, and that by itself doesn't make anime better or necessarily worse (although if it's there for no reason then it's worse rather than better, and this is what I thought happened with Another). Ps: Sorry that I didn’t find anything positive about this, it’s so for me that there’s a category that doesn’t have at least 5 because I absolutely love anime and manga and it really made me sad to see this horror. One would think, if anyone is consistent, that if Another was highly received, with all its gore, that this would also be popular. When I was reading the manga I was so bored and even disgusted on how bad it was and the only thing that I wanted to do was to finish the volume so that I never had to read this thing again! Whenever I read a manga with bad characters (like King's game) I feel that kind of weird pressure and I don’t enjoy myself while reading. One of the things that I hate the most in a manga is when the characters are not good and you don’t get attached to any of them. Than me, he draws like a pathetic fool compared to other mangakas and I don’t know why the publisher accepted this sort of trash on paper. Now because I'm not a mangaka, I usually never put the art category under 5 but this is an exception.

Sounds okay right? Well no it’s absolutely not and I recommend this to everyone who wants to read a Traaaaash serie in their life. The story is basically some students in a school that is obligated to participate in a game called “King's game” and they must do challenges or else they die. The story was the only thing that wasn’t pathetic but it was still dreadful. No one made a review for this so I’m gonna make one.
